Dubai does not have many Malaysian Restaurants, only one that we know off and a few others more a mixture of Chinese and Thai as well. Come to think of it, while there are many Thai restaurants around the world, there are very very few Malaysian ones, specifically Malay food restaurants.
Why is that? I am not really sure, perhaps the taste of Malay food takes a bit of liking, or perhaps the mixture of Indian and Chinese influence in the cooking style makes it less distinctive to stand on its own.
Well, no matter what, one thing that we find strange is the lack of raw fruits or vegetables from Malaysia in the Dubai shops. You will find rambutan from Sri Langka, durian from Thailand, buah salak from indonesia, but hardly anything from Malaysia.
So, when we came across these in Hyper Panda at the Festival City, we were pleasantly surprised!
