Beach Picnic

We dropped by Fujeirah for a day trip since we could not get rooms for an overnight stay. It was a relatively short drive, less than 2 hours from our house. Since we overestimated the travelling time, we arrived at the beach in the middle of the day. It is definitely getting cooler with the onset of winter weeks away, but even than, a mid day sun is still overwhelming.

We than compromised and had over lunch picnic in the car, with the back open to enjoy the sea breeze!

Believe it or not, but this was the shadiest spot on the beach! The place was clean, but the beach was rocky. I guess all the nice spots are taken up by the hotels.

With the back up and the middle row seats down, there was ample space for the four of us to sit and have a picnic!

Food and drinks in the car means another visit to the car wash is required soon!

The twins had a day off today even though it was a thursday, so a long three day weekend for them.

A quick swim in the sea and a considerably long time creating sand castles and we were back on the road to Dubai. It gets dark pretty soon these days so we arrived back just in time for an early dinner and drive around the sea wall next to the Burj Dubai.

Since the kids had taken a nap on the drive over, we decided to continue driving and see the new part of town close to the Marina.

A walk at The Walk at the Jumeirah Beach Resort. A relatively new place which we have heard about but not ventured to yet. It is nice and I think we will be hear a few more times in the future, espeacilly as it gets cooler.

The Walk has a lot of food joints, and since the next day was a weekend, it was full of people having dinner and ...well, walking around. As for landscaping, there were fountains all along the path, made the place look really nice.

All the walk made the family tired, and a quick stop at the pastry shop for some drinks and cakes was required.

The twins chose the Black Forest cake themselves. All the chocolate made their eyes open up like saucers. It was a real hassle cleaning up afterwards!
