Living a Malaysian Life

Yes, it has been a long time! Its been more than a month since the last post and that’s basically just an indication of how hectic things can get!

To cap things off, we have been back to Dubai, the kids back in school and live settling back to a semblance of normalcy and routine.

We have been doing stuff over the weekends as usual and the kids have started new activities to keep them occupied after school.

One of things about being here is the opportunity to try out things that we would not be able to, or perhaps afford to do back home. Horse riding is one of them. However, while the Polo Club is just a stone’s throw away (if you have the arms of the Hulk that is!), the waiting list for the winter season is 2 years long.

So, while we wait, the kids have to be happy with the pony rides that they offer every weekends.

Abah, when are we going on the horse ride!!

The kids were excited and when the grooms came with the ponies, they were trying their best to keep their excitement under check!

Dina of course wanted the white pony as all the princesses in her Disney book ride on white horses. We were a bit concerned that she might fall, being a bit clumsy at times, but she hung on for the whole 2 rounds around the paddock.

At the end of the ride, the twins were not very satisfied. -Why the horse walk only? Why never run?- Sheesh, these kids ah...After one ride and they think they are already experts!

The rides were pretty expensive, 30 Dhs each for about 15 mins ride, but considering how happy the twins were, I guess it was worth it. Linda promised them one ride a month while we continue to hope that places for the riding lessons would open up soon!
