Well, after being away for close to 5 weeks, the family is back. It was great to see them coming in at the airport, all blurry eyed and full of sleep.
The twins were all excited coming back to the house and back to their own rooms. They were running around the house in the middle of the night checking out all the rooms and getting acquainted with their toys all over again. It was not easy to get them to bed, but once in, they were out in a flash!
We were up early the next day, I too, having just got back from a Singapore Brisbane flight, was keeping close to Malaysia time. Took the kids out to the garden when it got light to show them the grass that has grown and also the trees that have sprouted since they were gone. Its the height of summer now, but the early mornings and evening is still kinda bearable.
We had to do a shopping trip to stock up the house and get foodstuffs, but the first stop was to the restaurant for some brunch. Linda wanted some banana leaf so we headed out to Appa Kadai for a lunch that did not disappoint.
After lunch we than headed over to the driving institute to register Linda’s second attempt for the UAE driving license. Like many things in Dubai, it worked fast as long as you are willing to pay the money required!
We headed out to Ibn Batuta for the shopping as Linda wanted to pop over after a long while of not being there.
I had promised the kids that I will take them swimming in the evening, and we checked out the new club close to our place. The Dubai Polo and Golf club is about 5 mins drive from the house and the temperature drops enough in the evening time for a swim to be comfortable.
We had come over to the pool kinda late, but the benefit was we had the place pretty much to ourselves. The sun comes down quickly in the desert and we were soon in the dark with the glow of the underwater light from the pool all around the kids.
A quick shower under the lights and we were back home. The kids were so tired that they were knocked out as soon as their heads hit the pillow!
