Bouncy Castle

Today was a day of bouncy castles.

We set out for the twins nursery Summer Fair after I had my nap. It was an overnight flight from Frankfurt and sleep was much needed. Unfortunately, the humidity levels were a lot higher today than it was in recent weeks, thus even though it was at a relatively low 37-38C, it felt very clammy and sticky after being out and about for a short while.

From sunday onwards the cabin crew will be changing their uniform to a new one, and since we had to wait for our transport, an impromtu photo session took place. The huge GE 115 engine is behind, can drive a truck into it with space to spare!

My breakfast table in Frankfurt. A latte, a waffle (finished) and a good book. It was a blamy 17C out there and the wind made it cooler, but it was nice to eat a meal outside after the hot weather in Dubai. Check out the tram behind, used it to visit the town center.

Nursery Summer Fair. At least they had the sense to hold it in the gym. It would have been unbearable if it was held out in the open.

Dina and Vicki in the nursery bouncy castle. 10 Dhs for 5 min, expensive, but the minders weren't strict with the timing. The girls were there for a lot longer while the mothers were walking around shopping. The castle had a very distintive girls theme, check out the Pink Fairy at the background. Perhaps thats the reason why Icad did not want to go in.

Check out the tatoos. Vicki ahd one with love and leaf abstract design, Icad a scorpion, and Dina a nice flower motif. Oh, and a cupcake on the other hand.

We then left the nursery to Adriel’s place for his and Keiho’s birthday party. We arrived early, to see the Appa Kaddai van drive away, proof that the food would be good!

But better still, we went to the back to see that he too had a bouncy castle and a clown!

A perfect fit behind Adriels house. One of the reasons why we wanted a garden. The thing is, the bouncy castle is a lot cheaper here than in Malaysia. I guess since more people rent it here, they can afford to bring the price lower. Maybe la, we can have one for the kids at our place one of these days.

There was a clown too at Adriels place, with painting and balloons. Dina took awhile to overcome her fear of clowns (don't ask why, but the twins have this thing about them!) Since we were early, Dina went the whole way, one butterfly on one hand and a large flower on the other on top of her tatoos!

It was a fun day, met up with Adriel’s dad, who I flew with on the Airbus fleet in MAS around 12 years back. The old guy looked the same with nary a black hair, and what a memory! Hope I have the same sort of mental agility when I am his age…

The twins were really exhausted, what with 2 bouncy castles, a birthday and a summer fair all in one day. Without their afternoon nap, they were knocked out in the car on the way home.

The Veracruz has large comfy chairs in the middle, but size does not beat the Kenari's ability to flatten out the seats to make a proper sleeping space. Anyway, the twins made do with what they could, sleep over powers everything else.
